Preston McNeil has created a pouaka reta (letterbox) inspired by the pouwhenua – a traditional Māori carved post that signifies territorial boundaries and ancestral connections. By thoughtfully integrating functionality with toi Māori (Māori art), McNeil brings cultural symbolism into everyday life, fostering greater recognition and appreciation of Aotearoa’s indigenous identity.
