INTERACTIVE TOURING EXHIBITION

Arca Arcade blends nostalgic gaming technology with contemporary art under the direction of Preston McNeil. Wall-mounted arcade cabinets become playable art installations, combining classic arcade mechanics with visual languages drawn from te ao Māori and contemporary practice in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The project brings together collaborations with artists including Gina Kiel, Flox, Otis Frizzell, Joe Sheehan, and Otis Chamberlain. Presented in Arca Arcade: Round One, the cabinets reinterpret the arcade machine as an interactive contemporary artwork, inviting audiences to engage with gaming culture through a gallery context.
